The story behind PreClickCheck.
Hi — I'm Colin, a CTO based in Mariposa, California. Every week I click "I agree" on privacy policies for apps, services, and websites — and like most people, I never actually read them.
The problem isn't laziness — it's that privacy policies are deliberately unreadable. What are they actually collecting? Who are they selling it to? Can I delete it? Those answers are buried in five thousand words of legal boilerplate.
So I built PreClickCheck — an AI tool that reads privacy policies the way a privacy lawyer would, pulls out what actually matters, and gives you a plain-English risk score in seconds. It worked well enough that I decided to open it to everyone.
If you use the internet and care about where your data goes, this is for you.
PreClickCheck runs on Claude, Anthropic's most capable AI model. Claude consistently ranks at the top of independent benchmarks for legal and regulatory document analysis. Your documents are analyzed in isolation and never stored or used to train any model. We never sell your data — we built this tool precisely because we believe that shouldn't be normal.
I built this to solve my own problem, but the most useful thing now is hearing how other people use it — what's working, what's missing, what you'd pay more for. Every piece of feedback directly shapes what gets built next.
